Who we are

Founded in 2020, Bucking Bee Farm began with a small herd of Black Angus beef steers, built on a foundation of honest hard work and a love for livestock. As the farm grew, we expanded into producing our own high quality orchard grass hay, gaining complete control over feed quality and pasture health to better support our growing herd. Over time, our vision evolved from raising commercial beef to building a program rooted in connection, temperament, and tradition.

By 2024, Bucking Bee Farm shifted its focus from Angus beef to the unique world of miniature Highland cattle — drawn by their gentle nature, hardy disposition, and unmistakable beauty. Our first cows, Lulu, Fiona, and Weeman McGregor, became the cornerstone of our miniature breeding program and continue to represent the type of animal we strive to produce: calm, compact, and full of character.

Today, our herd includes carefully selected Highland, HighPark, and Highland–Sundog crosses, each bred for excellent disposition, balanced conformation, and manageable size. We emphasize strong maternal instincts, sound genetics, and approachable temperaments that make our cattle ideal for small-acreage owners, families, and breeders alike.

We take pride in developing cattle that are not just miniature in stature, but mighty in quality — featuring desirable traits like polled genetics, chondro diversity, and distinctive Highland characteristics. Each calf is raised with daily interaction and individualized care, ensuring every animal from Bucking Bee Farm grows up calm, confident, and people-friendly.
